Malatya Frost
There was a significant frost in Malatya this morning (14.04.2022). Temperatures were recorded at -4 to -6 C (21-25 F) across the whole growing region. Temperatures were below freezing for approximately 4 hours.
Up to 80% of orchards had recently finished bloom following a very short blooming period (flash bloom) due to unusually warm weather. Around 20% had yet to open at higher elevations.
We will assess the damage over the coming days.
