Turkish Apricot Update 08/07/2025

June exports higher than expected

  • Exports in June were 2,618 tons compared to 3,085 tons last year, a decrease of 15%
  • Exports year to date are 71,954 tons compared to 63,271 tons last year, an increase of 14%

Exports in June were stronger than expected and it seems higher average prices in June indicate default and short covering activity was fairly prevalent.

We expect that the total shipments for the season will be around 75,000 tons with 10,000 tons of domestic consumption, we forecast a carryover of 40,000 tons.

There will be zero 2025 crop, so the 40,000 tons will have to cover the whole of the season.

Prices continue to edge higher on very tight supply, most of the remaining stock is in the hands of growers who will drip feed it into the market as and when they need cash.
